﴿ ءَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً إِن يُرِدْنِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ بِضُرٍّۢ لَّا تُغْنِ عَنِّى شَفَٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يُنقِذُونِ ﴾

“Should I take to worship­ping [other] deities beside Him? [But then,] if the Most Gracious should will that harm befall me, their intercession could not in the least avail me, nor could they save me:”

أأتخذ من دونه آلهة يعني أصناما . إن يردن الرحمن بضر يعني ما أصابه من السقم . لا تغن عني شفاعتهم شيئا ولا ينقذون يخلصوني مما أنا فيه من البلاء
