﴿ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى مَنْ أَسْرَفَ وَلَمْ يُؤْمِنۢ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِۦ ۚ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ أَشَدُّ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ ﴾

“For, thus shall We recompense him who wastes his own self and does not believe in his Sustainer's messages: and, indeed, the suffering [of such sinners] in the life to come shall be most severe and most enduring!”

( وكذلك ) أي وكما جزينا من أعرض عن القرآن كذلك ( نجزي من أسرف ) أشرك ، ( ولم يؤمن بآيات ربه ولعذاب الآخرة أشد ) مما يعذبهم به في الدنيا والقبر ، ( وأبقى ) وأدوم .
