﴿ قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَكَ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا مِن دُونِهِم ۖ بَلْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ ٱلْجِنَّ ۖ أَكْثَرُهُم بِهِم مُّؤْمِنُونَ ﴾

“They will answer: “Limitless art Thou in Thy glory! Thou [alone] art close unto us, not they! Nay, [when they thought that they were worshipping us,] they were but [blindly] worshipping forces concealed from their senses; most of them believed in them.””

قالت الملائكة: ننزهك يا ألله عن أن يكون لك شريك في العبادة، أنت وليُّنا الذي نطيعه ونعبده وحده، بل كان هؤلاء يعبدون الشياطين، أكثرهم بهم مصدقون ومطيعون.
