﴿ وَبِكُفْرِهِمْ وَقَوْلِهِمْ عَلَىٰ مَرْيَمَ بُهْتَٰنًا عَظِيمًۭا ﴾

“and for their refusal to acknowledge the truth, and the awesome calumny which they utter against Mary,”

وكذلك لعنَّاهم بسبب كفرهم وافترائهم على مريم بما نسبوه إليها من الزنى، وهي بريئة منه.
