﴿ يُنَادُونَهُمْ أَلَمْ نَكُن مَّعَكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَلَٰكِنَّكُمْ فَتَنتُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَتَرَبَّصْتُمْ وَٱرْتَبْتُمْ وَغَرَّتْكُمُ ٱلْأَمَانِىُّ حَتَّىٰ جَآءَ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ وَغَرَّكُم بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْغَرُورُ ﴾

“They [who will remain without] will call out to those [within], “Were we not with you?” - [to which] the others will answer: “So it was! But you allowed yourselves to succumb to temptation, and you were hesitant [in your faith], and you were doubtful [of resurrection]; and your wishful thinking beguiled you until God’s command came to pass: for, [indeed, your own] deceptive thoughts about God deluded you”

ينادي المنافقون المؤمنين قائلين: ألم نكن معكم في الدنيا، نؤدي شعائر الدين مثلكم؟ قال المؤمنون لهم: بلى قد كنتم معنا في الظاهر، ولكنكم أهلكتم أنفسكم بالنفاق والمعاصي، وتربصتم بالنبي الموت وبالمؤمنين الدوائر، وشككتم في البعث بعد الموت، وخدعتكم أمانيكم الباطلة، وبقيتم على ذلك حتى جاءكم الموت وخدعكم بالله الشيطان.
