﴿ وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْنَٰهُمْ فَٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ ٱلْعَمَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ صَٰعِقَةُ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْهُونِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ ﴾

“And as for [the tribe of] Thamud, We offered them guidance, but they chose blindness in pre­ference to guidance: and so the thunderbolt of shame­ful suffering fell upon them as an outcome of all [the evil] that they had wrought;”

আর সামূদ সম্প্রদায়, আমরা তাদেরকে পথনির্দেশ করেছিলাম, কিন্তু তারা সৎপথের পরিবর্তে অন্ধপথে চলা পছন্দ করেছিল। ফলে লাঞ্ছনাদায়ক শাস্তির বজ্রাঘাত তাদের পাকড়াও করল; তারা যা অর্জন করেছিল তার জন্য।
