﴿ لَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَٰقَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَأَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهِمْ رُسُلًۭا ۖ كُلَّمَا جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۢ بِمَا لَا تَهْوَىٰٓ أَنفُسُهُمْ فَرِيقًۭا كَذَّبُوا۟ وَفَرِيقًۭا يَقْتُلُونَ ﴾

“INDEED, We accepted a solemn pledge from the children of Israel, and We sent apostles unto them; [but] every time an apostle came unto them with anything that was not to their liking, [they rebelled:] to some of them they gave the lie, while others they would slay,”

অবশ্যই আমরা বনী ইসরাঈলের কাছ থেকে অংগীকার নিয়েছিলাম ও তাদের কাছে অনেক রাসূল পাঠিয়েছিলাম। যখনি কোন রাসূল তাদের কাছে এমন কিছু আনে যা তাদের মনঃপূত নয়, তখনি তারা রাসূলগণের কারও উপর মিথ্যারোপ করেছে এবং অপর কাউকে হত্যা করেছে।
