﴿ وَٱقْتَرَبَ ٱلْوَعْدُ ٱلْحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِىَ شَٰخِصَةٌ أَبْصَٰرُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا قَدْ كُنَّا فِى غَفْلَةٍۢ مِّنْ هَٰذَا بَلْ كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ ﴾

“the while the true promise [of resurrection] draws close [to its fulfillment]. But then, lo! the eyes of those who [in their lifetime] were bent on denying the truth will stare in horror, [and they will exclaim:] “Oh, woe unto us! We were indeed heedless of this [promise of resur­rection]! - nay, we were [bent on] doing evil!””

অমোঘ প্রতিশ্রুতি কাল আসন্ন হলে অকস্মাৎ অবিশ্বাসীদের চক্ষু স্থির হয়ে যাবে,[১] তারা বলবে, ‘হায় দুর্ভোগ আমাদের! আমরা তো ছিলাম এ বিষয়ে উদাসীন; বরং আমরা সীমালংঘনকারী ছিলাম।’ [১] য়্যা'জূজ-মা'জূজ বের হওয়ার পর কিয়ামতের সত্য প্রতিশ্রুতি অতি নিকটে এসে পড়বে। আর যখন কিয়ামত অনুষ্ঠিত হয়ে যাবে তখন কিয়ামতের ভয়াবহ অবস্থা দেখে কাফেরদের চক্ষু স্থির হয়ে যাবে।
