﴿ وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِىٓ أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴾

“and all that they said was this: "O our Sustainer! Forgive us our sins and the lack of moderation in our doings! And make firm our steps, and succour us against people who deny the truth!" -”

তাদের (মুখে) এ কথা ছাড়া আর অন্য কোন কথা ছিল না, ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! আমাদের পাপরাশি এবং কর্মজীবনের বাড়াবাড়িসমূহকে তুমি ক্ষমা কর, আমাদের পা সুদৃঢ় রাখ এবং অবিশ্বাসী সম্প্রদায়ের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদেরকে সাহায্য কর।’
