﴿ ثُمَّ نُنَجِّى رُسُلَنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنَا نُنجِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴾

“[For thus it always happens: We seal the doom of all who deny the truth and give the lie to Our messages;] and thereupon We save Our apostles and those who have attained to faith. Thus have We willed it upon Ourselves: We save all who believe [in Us],”

Then We shall deliver nunajjī the imperfect tense is being used to narrate a past situation Our messengers and the believers from the chastisement. In like manner to that deliverance it is incumbent upon Us to deliver the believers the Prophet s and his Companions when the time comes for chastising the idolaters.
