﴿ وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ﴾

“And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say:”

And verily wa-laqad is for confirmation We know that your breast is at times oppressed by what they say in the way of mockery and denial.
