﴿ إِن يَسْـَٔلْكُمُوهَا فَيُحْفِكُمْ تَبْخَلُوا۟ وَيُخْرِجْ أَضْغَٰنَكُمْ ﴾

“[for,] if He were to demand of you all of them, and urge you, you would niggardly cling [to them], and so He would [but] bring out your moral failings.”

If He were to ask you for it and press you demand it persistently you would be niggardly and this niggardliness would expose your rancour towards the religion of Islam.
