﴿ وَقَالَ يَٰبَنِىَّ لَا تَدْخُلُوا۟ مِنۢ بَابٍۢ وَٰحِدٍۢ وَٱدْخُلُوا۟ مِنْ أَبْوَٰبٍۢ مُّتَفَرِّقَةٍۢ ۖ وَمَآ أُغْنِى عَنكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍ ۖ إِنِ ٱلْحُكْمُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ ۖ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ ۖ وَعَلَيْهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ ﴾

“And he added: "O my sons! Do not enter [the city all] by one gate, but enter by different gates. Yet [even so,] I can be of no avail whatever to you against [anything that may be willed by] God: judgment [as to what is to happen] rests with none but God. In Him have I placed my trust: for, all who have trust [in His existence] must place their trust in Him alone."”

�On him I rely... He [Sahl] was asked, �What is the reality of complete trust [in God] (tawakkul)? He replied, �It is to be at ease (istirsāl) with whatever God, Exalted is He, wants.� Then he was asked, �What are the requisites of complete trust?� He said, �The first is knowledge and its reality is acting [on it].� Then he said:Truly the person who has complete trust [in God] (mutawakkil), when he attains it in reality (ʿalā�l-ḥaqīqa), does not eat any food in the knowledge that there is someone who has more of a right to it than himself. His words, Exalted is He:
