﴿ فَلَمَّا رَءَا ٱلْقَمَرَ بَازِغًۭا قَالَ هَٰذَا رَبِّى ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَفَلَ قَالَ لَئِن لَّمْ يَهْدِنِى رَبِّى لَأَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ﴾

“Then, when he beheld the moon rising, he said, "This is my Sustainer!"-but when it went down, he said, "Indeed, if my Sustainer guide me not. I will most certainly become one of the people who go astray!"”

�If my Lord does not guide me�?He said:It means: If my Lord does not continue to guide me I shall be one of the folk who go astray. Then he said:The religion of Abraham was generosity (sakhāwa), and [a state of] freedom (tabarrī) from everything save God, Exalted is He. Do you not see how when the angel Gabriel asked him, �Do you need anything?� He replied, �From you, no.� He did not depend on anyone save Him, in any situation. His words, Exalted is He:
