Al-Hijr • EN-TAFSIR-IBN-ABBAS
﴿ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ ﴾
“save Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves.”
(Save Iblis), their chief. (He refused) he felt too proud (to be among the prostrate) to Adam (pbuh).
