﴿ قَالُوا۟ لَن نَّبْرَحَ عَلَيْهِ عَٰكِفِينَ حَتَّىٰ يَرْجِعَ إِلَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ ﴾

“[But] they answered: "By no means shall we cease to worship it until Moses comes back to us!"”

(They said: We shall by no means cease to be its votaries) we will continue to worship it (till Moses return unto us).
