Al-Furqaan • EN-TAFSIR-IBN-ABBAS
﴿ يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰ لَيْتَنِى لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيلًۭا ﴾
“Oh, woe is me! Would that I had not taken so-and-so for a friend!”
(Alas for me! Ah, would that I had never taken such an one) Ubayy Ibn Khalaf (for friend) following his religion!
