﴿ وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ حُكْمًا عَرَبِيًّۭا ۚ وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم بَعْدَمَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّۢ وَلَا وَاقٍۢ ﴾

“Thus, then, have We bestowed from on high this [divine writ] as an ordinance in the Arabic tongue. And, indeed, if thou shouldst defer to men's likes and dislikes after all the [divine] knowledge that has come unto thee, thou wouldst have none to protect thee from God, and none to shield thee [from Him].”

آیت 37 وَكَذٰلِكَ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ حُكْمًا عَرَبِيًّا”حکم“ بمعنی ”فیصلہ“ یعنی یہ قرآن عربی قول فیصل بن کر آیا ہے۔ جیسا کہ سورة الطارق میں فرمایا : اِنَّہٗ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ وَّمَا ہُوَ بالْہَزْلِ ”یہ کلام حق کو باطل سے جدا کرنے والا ہے اور کوئی بےہودہ بات نہیں ہے۔“
