﴿ فَنَادَتْهُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٌۭ يُصَلِّى فِى ٱلْمِحْرَابِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَىٰ مُصَدِّقًۢا بِكَلِمَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَسَيِّدًۭا وَحَصُورًۭا وَنَبِيًّۭا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ﴾

“Thereupon, as he stood praying in the sanctuary, the angels called out unto him: "God sends thee the glad tiding of [the birth of] John, who shall confirm the truth of a word from God, and [shall be] outstanding among men, and utterly chaste, and a prophet from among the righteous."”

آیت 39 فَنَادَتْہُ الْمَلآءِکَۃُ وَہُوَ قَآءِمٌ یُّصَلِّیْ فِی الْْمِحْرَابِلا اَنَّ اللّٰہَ یُبَشِّرُکَ بِیَحْیٰی مُصَدِّقًا بِکَلِمَۃٍ مِّنَ اللّٰہِ اس سے مراد حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ السلام ہیں ‘ جن کے لیے آیت 44 میں بِکَلِمَۃٍ مِّنْہُکا لفظ آرہا ہے۔وَسَیِّدًا وَّحَصُوْرًا وَّنَبِیًّا مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِیْنَ یہاں نوٹ کر لیجیے کہ آخری لفظ جو حضرت یحییٰ علیہ السلام کی مدح کے لیے آیا ہے وہ نبی ہے۔
